we just got our power back on-- after 48 hours without electricity! the effects of the hurricane made it all the way up to cincinnati: sunday afternoon there were crazy gusts of wind, huge trees swaying, leaves flying everywhere, and then- no power. so sunday evening, sunday night, ALL day yesterday, and most of today was spent in "camping" mode. well, we did cheat a bit and brought some groceries from our fridge to our friends' house and actually spent the night over there last night. Matt's school was called off yesterday and today- so at least we had his company during the power outages! now we just have to wait to see if his school gets power back on for classes tomorrow...
here are a few pictures of damage in our neighborhood:
(luckily, we didn't have any problems in our yard)

- the siding was blown off this house...

-- tree limbs and branches lined our streets, as people began cleaning up the mess of their yards...
Jason and Matt cleaned up the little sticks and debris that was blown all over our yard- as you can see, Jason was VERY into helping Daddy and did a great job helping out:

Sandra, I think the one picture with the tree limbs by the street has your house in it. If it is your house you are missing the connection from your gutter to your downspout on the front right corner of your house.
Aunt Kathleen
That big pine tree pulled up its crazy!! That is very cute that Jasosn is helping pick up the yard.
Glad all was well and you all didn't have too much damage from it all. Jason sure is getting big.
