weekend of fun!

this past weekend Matt's relatives from Pennsylvania all drove into town to help throw a surprise birthday celebration for Matt's dad-- he turned 60!
he was definitely surprised:

a few more snapshots of the party:
- waiting for the surprise...

- Matt's cousin Stacy and her cute little Anna!

- looks like Pap needed help blowing out the candles!

- Owen playing peek-a-boo with a tired Jason...

throughout the entire weekend, Matt had to work on a 5-6 page paper for grad school. so it was kinda a bummer that he had to miss out on some hang-out time and he had that yucky feeling of dread hanging over him. he continuously stated that he couldn't think of anything more to write about and that it was dumb for his profesor to make a paper due after the first week of class. the assignment was due Sunday at midnight. so Sunday night around 10pm, as his cousins and I were watching a movie, we hear Matt exclaim from the other room: "Someone is playing a trick on me!" Lo and behold, he had been typing his paper in 9.5 font the whole time! so his almost 5 pages of words were actually 9 pages!! so then he had to edit the paper down to 6 pages-- he probably could have been done a long time before Sunday night.. but because of the font mix-up, he wrote double the length he needed!
I doubt that mistake will ever happen again!

well, I bet Matt had the best thought out paper of the entire class! And then he succinctly expressed those ideas.
Matt, you are one of the best!
