back to work...

well, the time has come. I kept hoping that June 25 could maybe just never arrive. but, alas, it seems as though the inevitable will finally occur- Monday morning will come very early in just a few hours from now. and I will be off to work- for the first time in almost 6 months! I think the shock of change will be the hardest thing... but I'll keep you all updated.

as for a few updates from the weekend--

- Jason got a new bathtub! he was getting a bit too big for the sink and he seems a little too small for the big tub- so now he has a blow-up, cushy bathtub. he seemed to like it- except that he kept wanting to roll over onto his stomach! we definitely don't take our eyes off of this little guy!

-- we missed Nick's birthday earlier this week, so we went over Friday night to give him his present: a sleeping bag. Matt wants to take him camping, as we hope to encourage his outdoors-y-ness. he seemed pretty excited about it! I don't think is was quite as cool as the wrestling videos or DVD player he also got, but fun for a late bday present none-the-less.

-- we spent Saturday with Owen (4 yrs. old) and Isaac (2 yrs old.). a house full of boys wears you out!-- but we all had fun together playing in the new lower level playroom, watching "Cars" movie, going on a walk, playing on the football field and track, and- as this picture shows- eating cookies and milk!

-- and on a health note: we are keeping an "eye" on Jason's eye. if you notice in this picture, his left eye is not looking straight at the camera. hopefully this is not an indication of a bigger problem- we will definitely ask the doctor about
it at our next visit in 3 weeks! my mom said that IF there is something wrong, the eye can re-learn what it is supposed to do. it might mean he has to wear a patch for a little while or something-- but we won't worry about that until we have to!

well, that's all for now. going back to work will leave me with less blogging-time. hopefully Matt will start to post about his days with Jason-- I am sure that will be a new adventure
with lots of memorable moments to share!
