the BIG weekend!

Jason has been around for half a year!!!!!
Happy half birthday, little camper.
It's true. Yesterday, we celebrated Jason's successful negotiation of his first six months. . . and he's got a t-shirt to prove it.

Yup. He's done a lot of growing up, our little boy. Notice how he's trying to look really nonchalant in the 6 month picture. It seems that he's getting that "baby attitude". At 3 months he was propped up, at 6 he's sitting up on his own!

So the half-birthday was yesterday. Later in the day some VonGeorge friends came over to help Papa finish painting the deck. Wow, those guys are nice! What's happening here is that J-Willy just told J-Wally a joke. It doesn't seem like J-Wally got it, though.

On Saturday, in order, he

1. caught up with Meredith and Shawn who visited all the way from Indiana,

2. rode with four wild women to Louisville

3. and met his new friend, Parker, who unfortunately is moving to Seattle.

Believe it or not that's a lot to drink in when you're only just a little fellow. But wait . . . there's more . . . On Friday, Jason got his first little taste of Carni(val) life. He better get used to it.
Here's the carnival grounds in our little community. Jason didn't win the stuffed animal, in case you were wondering. And I think he learned a valuable lesson about disappointment.

And for the grand finale of Friday evening Jason saw his very first parade. All the noise and commotion seemed to mesmerize him for about a solid half-hour. Here, Mama VonGeorge was able to capture the feel of the parade with a picture of her boys and a couple of horseapples that were left in the road as a background. She has an uncanny sense of abstract art. Enjoy the blog, faithful friends, and stay classy.

While the weekend does look fun, Jason looks pretty steadily unimpressed with all of the pictures. I think he has high standards.
