we are back from a quick trip to STL-- my sister and I gave my parents a little 35th wedding anniversary party at a local park. we actually found a shady spot AND the temperature was cooler in STL than cincinnati, so we lucked out!
Matt had to write a 10 page paper over the weekend, so we went to the zoo while he stayed home to work. Jason definitely likes the little animals better- like this guinea pig:
and he went to the petting goat part with his Uncle Sam. he was tentative at first, but Sam did a good job helping him out... whenever Jason touched an animal, he eagerly looked up to get the cheers from those of us watching.
now we're back, and looking forward to not traveling for awhile. Matt has a week break from grad classes (yeah!), but is working long hours at night to prepare for his new 6th grade math classes. my involvement with the youth group kids will start back up this week and I am going to try out the MOPS group at church tomorrow. we'll see how that goes.

We had a great time at the zoo with you. I hope your MOPS group is fun. Hopefully Jason will have lots of friends to play with there.
